Updating Firmware SURETHERM

The procedure described below will guide you through the process of updating your induction heater from A to Z. When you are experiencing any problems during this process we have got you covered. The guide for troubleshooting SURETHERM is located at Troubleshooting Firmware SURETHERM.

1. Download Firmware Pack

Our latest updates for SURETHERM are located at Downloads SURETHERM. Download the preferred Firmware Pack and make sure to store the file in a location that is easy to find.

2. Extract files to USB drive

We use USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 drives with a maximum capacity of 16 GB. USB drives with larger capacities may work, but have not been tested. The USB drive must be formatted to FAT32 in order to work, other file systems (like exFAT and NTFS) are not compatible with the induction heater.

Insert the USB drive into your PC and locate the downloaded file on your PC. The Language Pack is compressed using a .ZIP-file. To extract the contents of the zipped folder: right-click the folder, select Extract All, and then follow the instructions. You can select the USB drive as the destination.

This will extract the files to the USB drive root, meaning the top level of the USB drive. The files should not be placed in folders, the induction heater will not scan these folders. Make sure to remove any unnecessary files before proceeding to the next step. Eject the USB drive from the PC.

3. Enter User Menu

Insert the USB drive and turn on the induction heater. Wait until the boot sequence is completed. To enter the User Menu press and hold the START/STOP button for 8 seconds.

4. Update Firmware

Scroll down to the bottom of the User Menu. Select U26 – Update Firmware GUI. Check the Firmware version and press the Confirm button. This action will unpack the update files and launch the bootloader. Do not turn off the induction heater during step 4 and 5.

5. Update Language Pack

When the Language Pack is present on the USB drive the bootloader will automatically locate and update the Language Pack during the Firmware update. The heater will show “Updating Texts” during this process.

Wait for the heater to complete the update. This procedure will take a couple of minutes. After the process is completed the induction heater will reboot and is ready for use when the Home-screen is shown.

The procedure can be used to switch Language Packs as well. Download the Firmware Pack with the preferred language and follow the procedure. The new Language Pack will overwrite the previous.
