Adjusting Yokes

Your order can be shipped with yokes taken from inventory. It is also possible that you have used the heater for a longer time and have problems with the adjustment of the yokes. In both cases the yokes must be aligned to work properly with your (new) heater. The following procedure can be applied to SURETHERM 20X, 30X, PRO 1X PIVOT and/or Easytherm 3.5, 15, 30 induction heaters.

  1. Place yoke on the pivot pin of the heater and rotate the far end over the vertical post – this is the closed position.
  2. The pivot mount bolts are pre-loosened (1/4 turn). Ensure the yoke is lying flat on the vertical posts.
  3. Turning the heater ON will pull the yoke against the vertical posts. When you are adjusting older yokes, take a nylon dead blow hammer and lightly tap to help ensure the yoke is seat flat.
  4. Tighten both pivot bolts to to the corresponding torque values and turn the heater OFF.
  5. Ensure the yoke rotates freely and lays flat on the vertical post.

Always maintain a thin layer of grease on the unpainted, machined milled surface of the yoke and posts.
